If you are like many people, your upload and download speed are important to you. Many web pages and videos are becoming quite complex and if you want to be able to access them easily when you are on the move you need a fairly fast modem to do so with. A 3G dongle from any one of the mobile networks should be able to give you the connection speeds you have been looking for.

Many people think that their computers will govern how fast data can be uploaded or downloaded. This is partially true but it is also up to the device you are using to access the internet. 3G dongles are fantastic because they are much faster than non-3G dongles would be.

If you want a 3G dongle for your computer, you need to figure out which network has the best coverage. Not every network will provide 3G access for your 3G dongle. You want to make sure that the network you choose will provide coverage for a 3G dongle in the areas where you will be spending most of your time.

Once you have selected the company that will supply you with your 3G dongle you need to think about what kind of plan you want. You will be able to access a lot more data for the same price if you decide to go with a plan rather than a pay as you go situation. Consider your budget and whether you want to pay up front for your device and you can end up surfing the internet even while you are on the move.

The coverage for mobile broadband is growing constantly in Ireland. The competition from the networks makes them all fight for a way to get their custom, this then has a possitive knock on effect for the users of broadband.

There is more websites coming to the web offering information on mobile broadband, mobile-broadband.ie is one I came across this week giving information for each network, an ideal place to check out your options. There is the options for contracts as well as the ever growing 30 day broadband options.

Meteor currently has the largest range of products for pay as you go and contracts. 3 Broadband has the largest with 60GB of monthly data. O2 offer a special 6 month contract with 15GB data. Vodafone Contract deals at present in my opinion lack a real push for custom as their 10GB of data costs the same as 3′s 15GB. Yet the 30 day vodafone broadband gives 5GB of data on a rolling monthly option for €20.

Before selecting a Mobile Broadband Product you can check coverages with each of the networks on the links below.

o2

three

vodafone

meteor.

The above mobile broadband coverage checks will require you to either select by county or postal code. Then you will be presented by a colour scheme showing inside and outside strengths.

While it is not everyday that sharing internet connection with friends is needed, it’s still a good thing to be able to do when the situation arises. Being able to share internet connection is as easy as having the right device. On Vodafone, you have two of these devices to choose from.

Vodafone subscribers who already have the dongle can simply buy a Sharing Hub in order to share their 3G internet connection. The Sharing Hub is a small device that acts like a WiFi router. With your dongle plugged into the Sharing Hub, up to 4 devices that are WiFi-enabled can go online at the same time. This device costs only £49.

Another way to share your Vodafone connection is by getting a mobile WiFi plan. This device is a very portable WiFi router, through which up to 4 devices (laptop, mobile phone, tablet computer, etc.) can browse the world wide web. Vodafone currently offers the mobile WiFi device at £49. When you buy this portable router, you will have a rolling pay monthly plan on Vodafone. The monthly tariff is £15 and includes 2GB of data every month. This is the data allowance that you can share with your friends when you go online at the same time. If you go over this data allowance, the fee is £15 for every 1GB.

Contact Vodafone now if you want more information on how to go about getting a Sharing Hub or Mobile WiFi router.
